Admission Requirements

The requirements for admission are as follows:

Pre requisites - a minimum of 90 credit hours (or equivalent) from a regionally accredited undergraduate institution and the completion of the following required courses prior to matriculation:

Required Courses

  1. Biology - one year with laboratory experience. Advanced placement credits cannot be used to satisfy this requirement; upper level courses should be taken if granted advance placement credits.
  2. Chemistry – two years with laboratory experience. Full year course(s) in general or inorganic chemistry and a full year course in organic chemistry. A one semester course in biochemistry may substitute for the 2nd semester of organic chemistry.
  3. Physics – one year of general physics. Advance placement credit may be used to satisfy one semester of the physics requirement.
  4. Mathematics – one semester of college level mathematics, calculus or bio statistics highly recommended, will satisfy this requirement.
  5. English – specifically a one year expository writing course or any non science courses that involve substantial experience in expository writing

MCAT – Medical College Admissions Test scores (required)

The following documentation must be provided in anticipation of progressing to the next level of the admissions process:

  • A completed application for Admission
  • The Personal Essay – limited to 300 words or less
  • The $75 Application fee in U.S. denominated funds.
  • Letters of Recommendation – may be satisfied by a combined committee letter if the issuing department has a pre-health advisory committee that prepares such letters. Otherwise, two letters must be provided, one of which must be from an academic source (and preferably from a science teacher during the completion of undergraduate or graduate coursework)
  • Transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended – undergraduate colleges, graduate and/or professional programs attended. If you are invited for an interview unofficial transcripts must be replaced with official transcripts from each institution submitted directly to the Office of Admissions from the issuing institution.
  • Official MCAT results.
