Our Hospital Partner

The most respected medical schools in the United States introduce clinical training into their basic sciences curriculum. To effectively administer a program of this caliber, a hospital relationship is a requirement.

Trinity School of Medicine has exclusive rights to use Milton Cato Memorial Hospital for teaching purposes—making Trinity one of the few Caribbean School of Medicines with a truly integrated hospital experience. This 220-bed hospital and its staff have over 30 years of experience working with and training medical students in clinical medicine.

Through this hospital partnership, Trinity introduces clinical medicine in the first semester curriculum and carries the training throughout the entire basic sciences course study. The University of the West Indies also has approved the Hospital for full internships, clerkships in medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, and electives in other qualifying disciplines.

Accreditation

As a student at Trinity School of Medicine, you are eligible to register and sit for the United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLE) Step1 and Step 2, the standard exams required of all U.S. and Canadian medical students.

After passing Step 1 and Step 2 of the USMLE and completing the educational requirements for the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree, students are eligible for certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). With this certification in place, students are able to proceed to Step 3 of the USMLE for licensing and to participate in the National Residency Match Program (NRMP).

Trinity School of Medicine is accredited by the National Accreditation Board (NAB) of the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Trinity's accreditation is also approved by the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education & Research (FAIMER), and is listed in its International Medical Education Directory (IMED).
