Campus

Trinity School of Medicine has leased a multi-use complex called Harmony Hall which will house the medical school during its start up years. It is a beautifully landscaped, multi-level complex that is minutes from the airport, downtown Kingstown and the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital – where students will be engaged in clinical applications from the very first semester of the Foundations of Medicine. The campus includes fully furnished, private and semi-private apartments where many of the first semester students will be domiciled. All facilities of the medical school are on campus including the lecture hall and anatomy lab.

The campus includes:

  • A new lecture hall
  • A state of the art anatomy lab
  • General purpose classroom(s), and break out rooms for problem based learning sessions.
  • A Learning Resource Center that includes bound reference titles and electronic resources will be available for student use and as a central study hall.
  • The administrative and student support services team will be housed in offices within the complex and there will be a food service center serving breakfast and lunch for students and staff.
  • In short – the campus during these start up years will serve as a one-stop complex – in a secure and protected location with breathtaking views of the ocean from a commanding hilltop location.

The campus facilities are lush with tropical vegetation, palm trees and exotic landscape. Students will find the atmosphere very conducive to the rigors of medical school studies. There will be security and maintenance personnel on campus at all times to handle any need that might arise. Faculty offices are only a few short steps from your apartment so scheduling an appointment or just dropping by for a discussion is very convenient. Our focus on the learning environment was paramount in choosing our campus location.

The entrance to the resource center provides you with a sense of the intimate yet highly functional surroundings. There are many venues for students to sit and converse, snack or just relax between classes. The campus has a new back-up generator to provide electricity in the event of a power outage. All the buildings are concrete block and built to withstand any adverse weather conditions. Historically St. Vincent has experienced very few situations where severe weather conditions occur but it’s comforting to know our buildings are built to withstand them if they do.

Future plans call for the establishment of a complete new and comprehensive campus with multiple buildings – auditoria, classroom buildings, learning resource center, campus sports center and administrative offices, in close proximity to our current facility at Harmony Hall. Until then, we feel the campus facilities at Harmony Hall provide a very comfortable, safe and unique environment that the students will thoroughly enjoy.
