Housing

The Trinity School of Medicine will require that all incoming, 1st semester students reside in College-sponsored housing for the first semester. This option includes one and two bedroom apartments, and double or single rooms. The Canash Cottages provide beautifully appointed apartments, fully furnished and with air conditioning. This is a gated community that includes oversight by faculty residents. The grounds are beautifully maintained and there is a swimming pool for use by all residents and guests.

At the Canash Cottages there is regular food service (in close proximity) and the plan is to have food service provided for breakfast and evening meals for those who choose not to prepare their own meals.

The value of living in this sponsored housing during the first semester is significant. While adapting to life in St. Vincent and the rigors of medical school, you will also have the opportunity to look for more permanent housing for your remaining four semesters on the island. There are more than 350 apartments available in St. Vincent for student occupancy so the choices will be varied as you make a decision as to your more permanent domicile during the Foundations of Medicine and the Advanced Introduction to Clinical Medicine.

All Trinity-sponsored housing comes with weekly housekeeping services. Towels, pillows and coverlet are provided; however, students will have to bring their own sheets and pillow cases. Housing is offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Your housing deposit must be received in the Miami office within 30 days from your official acceptance into the University.

No Smoking Policy: Smoking is not permitted inside University sponsored housing. In most cases there are outdoor decks, patios, terraces where smoking is permitted.
